I had this problem two years ago. It looked like I was not going to qualify for renewing my visa. Fortunately, while explaining this to a Thai friend, he contacted his friend in Bangkok Bank, in Bangkok, and got the matter sorted. What I do now is use Kasikorn Bank. There are other advantages, but not related to your post so I won't discuss them here. If you do switch banks keep all of your documents and bank book for a couple of years at least.
Bummer. I'm past 72yo now so it's getting very expensive. I have thought about converting to non-O, but I keep hearing through the grapevine that soon health insurance will be required for that type of visa also. Meanwhile, thank you for your responses. 🙏
I made a mistake. I am on a non-OA visa, not non-O. So, now that I have cleared that up, I am still wondering if my health insurance from the USA qualifies for a non-OA visa extension?
