We went abroad during the first three months, before the first extension. I simply got a re-entry permit. When we returned the passport control mentioned “You have only 10 days left on your visa” and I replied we would request the extension on the next Monday.

Zero problems, friendly smile, and a “Very good” from the officer.

Yes, almost daily. Being the only western person in the village, I see heads turning towards me almost every day.

But I’m pretty sure (maybe wishful thinking) that this will reduce once I get more integrated and a more common appearance in the village.

We had a long chat with them. I showed the building site, 10 meter further, where we are building a house. They saw my drum kit when they entered our room and the accompanying lady asked whether we needed a singer in the band.

I explained that we aren’t really a band, but just music making family members. 😉
