Hello guys. Hope you are all good. Except light headaches we all have once it comes to any of visa topics. 🤔😊

I am from Serbia (Non European Union member) I have been working here in Thailand for a 7 months. I resigned (with regular resignation notice/period ) and my Visa and Work Permit are going to be cancelled on 26th of February. HR office from my company is going to do it on line trough system so I don't need to go to immigration but need to leave within 24 hours . I booked for my Visa run for same day 26th. I am go into Myanmar-Ranog. So I ll be able to leave country within 24 hours. Visa run company office now update that I need first to apply for 7day extension, and then after that 7days to go for visa run. WHY IF I CAN LEAVE COUNTRY WITHIN 24H?

Had anyone went for visa run straight after cancellation of non B and work permit (within 24h) without to go for 7day extention in Immigration?

For how long you can get tourist visa in Myanmar (as I am from Serbia, so Non European Union)

Why is it that people always want to circumvent the thai laws? You got an extension based on employment, to be employed you need a work permit. When the work permit stops your reason for the extension stops too. YOU <- the person whose name is in the work permit booklet need to go cancel it and then take that and the termination paperwork to the immigration office and cancel your extension, then leave the country and get a new visa to be here.

said. IF you're going to go to the thai consulate in Malaysia to get a tourist visa you need to apply for an EVisa to Malaysia. Serbians can't just stamp in at the border.

one more question. My non B visa is valid until October 2020. Does it mean cancelling of my Work permit will cancel My visa? I spoak to Jr from my school, she said after she cancell my work permit she can take letter of cancellation, give to me and I go to immigration to put stamp of visa cancellation. Now I am wondering, if I don't go with cancellation letter to immigration how it is going to be visible in my passport that my Non-B is cancelled? This will sound strange, but Does it mean if I don't report my WP cancellation my Visa is going to be valid and I can stay in Thailand until October, but with no possibility to work as have no WP???

okay you don't need to get ahold of the thai consulate in Serbia to find out where to go to get a tourist visa.

Serbia is NOT on the prohibited country list in Malaysia (meaning you can use any of the three consulates there; Kuala Lumpur, Penang, Kota Bharu)

Seeing as you're in Phuket (or your profile says you are) the thai consulate in Penang is the closest one for you to go to so you can get a single entry tourist visa

Thank you all. I wrote to Thai Consulate in Serbia. Will check everything. And go in Immigration myself on 26th, check all cancellation and get 7 days extention. Think you all. You guys been really helpful.

just to refer me to right country/Consulate and process. As that Consulate gives me my first Non B visa to Come here after My Thai company apply all documents for it. There you are buying all visas in Serbia (also tourist). So I guess they will advise where to get my Tourist Visa in Asia.

I think what the O/P really should do is a few weeks before the termination date they should take the termination paperwork to the Ministry of Labour and cancel their own work permit and then take that paperwork over to the immigration office and cancel their own extension and get stamped in until the date on the termination paperwork.

THEN they don't have a gun to their head to leave the country that very day and they can make a plan to GO to a thai consulate in another country and BUY a tourist visa for thailand

Okay, Let's keep in mind that it is YOUR work permit and YOUR visa extension in YOUR passport that need to be cancelled, so while you might say you're employer is doing it 'online" (something I have NEVER EVER heard of) for you, it is ultimately YOUR responsibility to make sure those things happen.

Also IF you are indeed a Serbian passport holder you cannot go to a border, stamp out, stamp in and out of another country and stamp back into thailand. Serbian passport holders need to BUY a visa for thailand before they come here.

], is that the country of your passport?

If yes, it's not on the visa on arrival/ visa exemption list.

So I guess it is best for her to FLY out of Thailand to a destination where she can get a tourist visa for Thailand. She wrote she wants do go Ranong on the 26th, but this is not an option!

she plans to use the Ranong border with Myanmar. As far as I know you can only do a same-day border run there, not a visa run, as there is no consulate nor embassy nearby and you need to get a 30 day tourist visa for

, in order to proceed to the embassy of Thailand in (?) Rangoon? Being from Serbia i guess she can buy a 15-day visa on arrival when re-entering Thailand

Never heard extension can be canceled online. Definitely you need stamp or notation on your passport about cancellation. If they really do it online, you had better to get receipt. letter or whatever the proof of cancellation.

You have until 23:59 on same day of cancellation to leave the contry without overstay.

1. Make sure your extension of stay and work permit ARE canceled. I'm guessing you're working for a BOI company, correct?

2. When your extension of stay is canceled, you must either leave Thailand by 11:59PM the same day, OR apply for an extension of stay for 1,900 THB. The extension will be denied, and you'd have 7 days to leave.

I came in July from my country Serbia with 3 months Non - B. In October I got here Non-B visa extension for 1 year, until October 2020. I have also multiple re-entry as I been travelling after I got my 1 year Non-B Visa.

One other thing. Are you on an extension of stay based on employment or stamped in with a visa in your passport? If not an extension of stay and stamped in with a visa that cannot be canceled and you can stay until the date stamped when you entered the country. You need to be more clear whether you have a visa or an extension of stay.
