 , yes, we had to have a ticket exiting Thailand prior to entering Thailand.

We recently flew to Thailand and could not board the plane without a return ticket we flew on Hawaiian airlines to NRT. We tried to check in and they made us book a flight before they would print a boarding pass. We had a 30 day Thai visa exemption.
