I applied on a friday and got it on monday. I did bring printed bank statements yes. They seemed to really confuse the immigration officer though.

If it helps, I applied for SETV at the thai embassy in manila and got it without problems. And I already had 5 visa exempts and 3 visas in my passport. This was just over a month ago.
