Now not clear at all! The bank thinks I need 1year, but if it's deposit it only needs to be there for 3 months. I can get 6 months printed off off locally, I have that and will try again tomorrow. The only issue might be proving that in this last year I kept the money in the bank for the ? months after the extension. We'll see if the bank book will suffice.
I can't get the one year transaction statment from Bangkok bank the same day or even the day before, it takes 4 working days by which time it is out of date. If you read my post you will see I've had the 800,000 in the bank for 5 years!
I've just applied ( about 1 hour agao) using an iMac and it has been accepted into the system, so I'm waiting for a reply. Caution , one time it got refused which meant I had to go to CM immigration who sorted it out in 5 minutes. Waiting now.
Strange, I have a BKK account that I have been using for years for my retirement extension in Chiang Mai It's a fixed account account on 1 year interest (1.5% this year). It is possible to withdraw the money at any time and lose the higher interest rate.
I've got a non-O visa, Orignally I had a O-A visa I think, it was issued in the UK, but I forgot to get a reentry permit one time and it lapsed. When I returned here I had to go through some hoops I then got a tourist visa I think and after? 80 days? applied for a non -O here in Thailand. I am still on that and get an 'extension for retirement' every year and no leaving the country. I understand that you must first let the O-A visa lapse then apply here in Thailand, first for a ? 30 day visa? visa exempt, not sure, and then for the non-O, with of course, the necessary funds available.
