Sorry if this has been asked before, it's simple. does a visiting American here for 10 months on a project ( CMU research) visa ( not sure exactly what it is)need to do the 90 day reporting as the rest of us do? I'm not sure he knows about it and I need to let him know. I suspect he does.

TLDR : Answer Summary
Yes, every foreigner in Thailand, regardless of visa type, is required to do 90-day reporting. Failing to comply can result in fines ranging from 2000 to 5000 baht. It's advisable for the individual on the CMU research visa to complete this requirement before reaching the 90-day mark.

I'll get him to go there before the 90 days. Safest thing. Thanks, you can close it if you want.

Every foreigner in Thailand on any kind of visa or visa-exempt entry must do 90-day reports. Fine for failing to do so 2000-5000b.
