❌ Can foreigners open a pet grooming shop in Thailand?

👉 Yes, but with important restrictions

🔴 1. If a foreigner “personally does the grooming”

➡️ High risk of being illegal

This type of work is a hands-on service job (similar to a barber/hairdresser)

In Thailand, some service occupations are reserved for Thai nationals

Example: Hairdressing is restricted → foreigners are not allowed to do it

👉 Pet grooming is considered similar skilled service work

➡️ If a foreigner performs it without proper authorization = can be illegal

🟢 2. If a foreigner is “only the business owner”

➡️ This is allowed (more legally safe)

But must meet these conditions:

✅ Register a company in Thailand

✅ Hire Thai staff to perform the grooming

✅ Obtain a business license from local authorities

✅ Have a valid Work Permit (e.g., as a manager)

👉 Pet grooming shops may also require permits from local or livestock authorities

⚠️ 3. Strictly prohibited

❌ Working without a valid Work Permit

❌ Using Thai nominees to illegally own the business

❌ Doing work outside the scope of the permit

👉 Penalties can include fines, imprisonment, and deportation

✅ Summary

👉 Foreigners can own a pet grooming business

❌ But should not perform grooming themselves without proper authorization

✔️ The safest way: hire Thai workers to do the job
