Tod,having got that, can my 19 year old kiwi Son who is on a tv 30 day extension, apply on the basis of my extension for a NON O and then convert that to a one year extension?

. Wrong, if one has 65,000 thb per month income you'll qualify for the retirement extension. It just needs to be verified by your Embassy in Thailand.
