I have a one year extension based on being over 50 years. It expires on 22-04-18. If I go out of Thailand and re-enter prior to the 22-04-18,will I get stamped in for 89 days? Thanks.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user inquired about the possibility of re-entering Thailand on a visa extension that expires soon. According to comments, if the extension was obtained at an immigration office and regular 90-day reporting has been adhered to, then re-entry may not grant a new 89-day stamp. However, if they were using a multiple-entry visa for border runs, they could receive a new stamp. Additionally, advice was given on applying for a new yearly extension when 30 days are left on the current extension and the implications of using a different passport for the extension process.

If you want a new yearly extension (like you have now) you can apply for it when you have 30 days or less left on your current extension. You can't switch nationalities when getting an extension and have to use the passport the original extension is in. Otherwise you have to start all over from zero with the new passport getting a Non-O visa and a yearly extension.

I don't know if you can use a affidavit of income from a country that you're not using that passport for an extension. That'd be a question for the immigration office

Tod. Many thanks to you and Steve's help. I'll check affidavit question out with immigration. I'll not be able to get to CW early so,is up to a couple of days prior to the expiry ok?

You don't lose any days by going early because they add the year extension on to the current expiration date

If it’s an extension of stay that you got at a immigration office in country and have since been doing 90 reporting then no.

If it was a multiple entry that you have been 90 day boarder bouncing on the the answer is yes.

It maybe as the guy I mentioned is 94 years old.

Jim. Ok Jim, Im not sure but I think the verification of income has to be from the embassy of the passport you are using for the extention, maybe other members of the group will have more information. If the UK embassy verify you income from any source then you should be OK

Steve. I wondered that,but asked as I know a gentleman here on a Kiwi passport whose pension comes from Australia and the NZ Embassy verifies it,not the Australian Embassy.

@J**
. Im pretty sure you need to use the passport that your current extention of stay is in to re-new it. Otherwise you would have apply for a new Non Imm O visa in the other passport and start the application process again

. Ok I just wanted to confirm,and no offence to you Paul. Anyway I've got up to 22nd April to do it.

1 more question, I'm entered on my UK passport but also have a NZ one. It costs 2,300 thb plus postage, for UK to verify my income but only 1,300thb for NZ embassy which will do it personally,and instantly during a visit.

Do you know if immigration would accept the Kiwi one while here on my UK passport please?
Steve *******
@J**
. No, not if you're on an extention of stay.

Steve, I meant that if I went out and came back before existing extension expires, will I get 3 months or Not?
Steve *******
@J**
. Sorry, I thought he said 21 days, it's usually anywhere between 30 days and the last day of your existing extention of stay.

Steve,so Paul's answer to my original question was correct then?
Steve *******
Jim. You can go the day before your extention expires, as long as you meet all the criteria needed you'll get another 1 year extention of stay

@Paul ********
. OK,how much times required?
Paul *********
You can go to immigration and apply for another 12 months extension. Providing you meet all the requirements.

I think you might just have enough time.
