Only takes 181 days in a calendar year. That said I'm not convinced the Thai Revenue Dept. could handle it if everyone filed.. It would be a huge mess. I suspect some of it is fear mongering.
I’m sure my wife and I are the rare exception… when the PEA crew pulled in our power and set a transformer we took them all cold drinks. Same with our construction crew. Once or twice a week… ever couple of weeks we feed them lunch. A small token of our appreciation of their hard work.
When the tea and sodas are handed out I do it. I’m their equal not some grand poo-bah.
Part of it they never had anyone teach them. My father in law couldn’t change a tire, service his machines. Zero mechanical skill. On the other hand my wife describes me as “ A shitty engineer in America but a genius in Thailand “ haha low bar for sure!
I totally understand. Doing for yourself was ingrained in me too. My folks are from Missouri and North Dakota. Farmers all.
You will find a big difference between city Thais and country folk. One of the things and there are many that amaze me in the small village that I live in is the utter lack of maintenance performed. Equipment gets run till it dies. Homes never get taken care of or even painted…
We have 2 Toyota pickup in my family here one 4wd one 2nd. They are amazing pieces of kit. Diesel and you can beat them but can’t kill them. Go drive one. Plus you have great dealer support. Good luck with a Jeep.
