I thought OA was one year and then you extend it like a non O visa?

Oh okay. I entered Thailand on a one year OA visa, so maybe I’ll be okay before the 90 day report.

Really? So the first 90 days until you report for the first time you can’t get a residency certificate? So my IDP will expire right when I’m eligible for a residency certificate. Great.

That’s unreal that’s all it took. I wouldn’t look for this visa to last very long. Get it while you can.

Getting a bank account without a long stay visa is hard. If you’re only on a tourist visa, many banks will say no. Best bet is to get an agent to grease the wheels.

I’m on an OA and my understanding is you have to show proof of a paid year of health insurance to extend every year. Also, 90 day reporting every 90 days, so you might get your pee pee slapped for that. 🤷🏻‍♂️

Best to get an insurance agent to check all companies and give you options to choose from, in my opinion.

I got the OA retirement visa online from the U.S. embassy in Chicago and it took about 2 weeks.
