Everyone forgets about the role that PromptPay plays. It’s important yet difficult without a Thai bank account. TagThai supports this yet doesn’t work well in my experience. It’s slow and I can only pay 20% of vendors. TrueMoney may support it better, but I need to report for my first 90 days before I get better PromptPay capability.

The DTV won’t be cancelled when you apply for a new visa. Only if another is granted.
