What is the process for my first 90-day report in Thailand with a retirement visa, and what documents do I need?

Although I've been living in Thailand for almost a year, I'll soon have to go for my first 90-day report. I used to do everything with a "BORDER RUN," but for the past few months, I've had a "retirement visa."

I know that for a visa extension, you can go three weeks in advance to renew your visa.

Now, I have three questions about this...

1. Can I go two or three weeks earlier? Or does it have to be on the specific date of the piece of paper they stapled to my passport?

2. What documents do I need to have ready?

3. How does it work?

Does anyone have any specific advice? FYI. My immigration office is in Bangkok near Don Meuang apt. I know you can do it online from the second 90-day period onward. But I heard you have to go there the first time.

TLDR : Answer Summary
The user is preparing for their first 90-day report in Thailand on a retirement visa and has questions about the timing for reporting, required documents, and the overall process. They have received mixed advice in the comments, clarifying that the 90-day report can be done two weeks before and one week after the deadline, and it's necessary to go to the immigration office in person for the first time. Recommendations include ensuring the TM 30 form is submitted and advising the user to check the specific office location for potentially less crowded options.

I used to do 90 days on-line - now it is not possible at Hua Hin Immigration. No form to fill in just take your passport

You can go a week before and some days after- not sure how many. The TM 30 check in is to the side of the main building usually very fast. The form is in the waiting area

If you have a partner, send them.

Once a year is enough for me.

Instead of main immigration on Chaengwattana go to the satellite office near Don Muang upstairs at IT Square...a LOT less crowded.

someone else said that this is now changed to seven days before and no days after, but I don’t know which is correct at this point

@Sean *********
you can do an in-person report from 15 days before to 7 days after, you can do an online report from 15 days before to 7 days before, you can do a mail in report from 15 days before till whenever it gets there probably 7 days.
Colin **********
Might be, i saw that and didnt know if it was office specific
Sean **********
my most recent understanding is you can do 90 day reporting seven days before and the day after you are considered late.

Make sure you have a TM 30 filed within 24 hours of your last entry. And go to immigration first time to file the TM 47 after that file correctly you will be able to online..

@Sean *********
It's 14 days in advance to 7 days after. When doing online from your 2nd report onwards, its only within 14 days in advance to due date possible.
Claus *********
It’s not at Seacon Square. You have to go immigration divison at ChangWattana building in Goverment complex like everyone else and wait and wait, and it can’t be done online first time

@Claus ********
You don’t have to wait. I don’t.

I don't understand what you're asking about.

Are you asking about applying for your 1-year extension based on retirement, that you only do once per year? There's no piece of paper that would be stapled in your passport for your extension. You can apply for the annual extension 45 days early in Bangkok.

Are you asking about your 90-day report that you do every 90 days? These are not the same thing AT ALL. A 90-day report reminder is the only thing they would staple in your passport. You cannot go 3 weeks before this date. You can go 14 days early until 7 days after the due date.
