What are the requirements for using TrueMoney with DTV in Thailand?

True money is great for enabling prompt pay with DTV. They only require a Thai drivers license. I just got mine activated today.

edit: I had read some conflicting reports of using the DTV stamp in the passport, so I used my Passport bio page + Thai drivers license. Unlocked Advanced level = prompt pay, 50k balance and 500k per month topup.

You can get the Advanced account by uploading both the most event DTV entry stamp AND the DTV printed PDF. I did it myself.

if the top-up system wouldnt be that bad i would probably use it more often. hope they will add a credit card top up anytime….

@Dany *******
That’s my biggest issue too. But it’s better than the alternative so I’m not complaining.

Moreta Pay has a more convenient top-up but no personal PromptPay.

One day the stars will align. ✨

I linked my non-Thai card with the TrueMoney app this week. The money balance can't be topped up with the card, but even without balance or low balance, the payments now will get thru with the credit card. The only downfall I've experienced is that if trying to do, payments of less than 200 baht get declined at
****
. But it's easy to change with one click from pay with the card to pay with the "cash" balance.

I've just had a look and I've linked my credit card to be able to "Pay" so if there is a shop that doesn't accept a credit card but they accept TrueMoney you can use it and charge it to your credit card. I might use it a little more.
Elías ********
@Colin *********
yes, it worked for me. The only downfall is that somehow the
****
system knows you're using a card (even if it's trhu the TrueMoney app) so it won't approve transactions under 200 baht if using that method).

@Colin *********
oh that must be new. i will check it out. thank you 😊 but be careful with your credit card data. i would recommend a prepaid cc… i had my data stolen many times and cards locked after using only the bigger companies apps in thailand….
Elías ********
@Dany *******
that's right, but nowadays most card issuers, at least in my country, allowed to enable or disable. the card online use with just one click from the card company app.

@Dany *******
hi i tried it this morning at 7 and it didnt work. Anyway you can add it but im not sure how it works lol
Elías ********
@Colin *********
was it below 200 baht?
Elías ********
Oh, sorry about the confusion. I meant that, if your purchase at
****
was an amount under 200 baht, paying with a TrueMoney-linked card won't do. It seems somehow their (
****
) internal rule of no card payments under 200 baht applies even when using third-party apps. For amounts under 200 bath, you'll need to use the TrueMoney "cash" balance (if any). I haven't encountered this issue at other stores.

@Elías *******
i think its was 250thb or like that

How do I a retirement visa and what's time to complete it
Colin **********
If you are in Thailand already best yo use an agent, i have no experience of them.
Colin **********
@Terry ********
there are a few things to consider; if you have a Thai bank then you can do it in Thai (800kthb in the bank 2months before) if you have no Thai bank you need to get it in your homecountry (90day non imm visa) when you get to Thailand you can extened it for 1 year
Colin **********
There are two levels on the card basic and advanced. Advanced needs more verification to the know Your Customer Level (KYC) level, but gives you more features like Prompt Pay, higher transaction levels and abilty to link your bank or card.

And ditle3ct activated and no monthly fee only 4.5 procent top up by card fee bud always cheaper than the rest off the shit bank ams moneta tag thai with difficult headache payment and even a crypto account you can top up by sqan as a farang true each asia wallet were you can top up qr

I have an account but haven’t used it for a long time. Before you could only do the scan prompt pay to business accounts and a lot of bars and street food vendors only have personal accounts so do you know if they have changed that where you can pay by scanning linked to personal accounts?
Raimond ***********
@Jim *******
yes you can so al scan things what everyone ca. Only not receive a scan bud Just use a mix from true scb deeppocket it works real simple and clear direct activebif you follow the procedure and a phusical card also
Raimond ***********
Take deep pocket Just all pasports and you get a visa card and can scan works easy super fast no headache as tag thai Just top uo with card cash and bank transfer
Jim ********
So you can only topup 50,000 baht a month? And keep 30,000 in the wallet at any one time?
Robert *********
ORIGINAL POSTER
@Jim *******
I can topup 500,000 per month and keep 50,0000 in the wallet. Passport bio + Thai drivers license.
Jim ********
@Robert ********
ahh ok you left the passport part out of your post 👌
Max *************
Is a Thai drivers license really required? Are you sure?
Elías ********
@Max ************
to activate the advanced functions you definitely need to submit either one: drivers license, work permit, or a valid visa (PDF file).
Josef **********
@Max ************
passport for registration also possible
Jim ********
@Max ************
yes you can use Thai drivers licence but you have low limits. Additional docs then give you higher limits
Max *************
@Jim *******
The OP said a drivers license is required. I think a passport will work as well.
Jim ********
@Max ************
no I think he meant in his case he only supplied a Thai drivers licence but yes a passport is fine also
Max *************
@Jim *******
He said a drivers license is required. Right?

passport is fine. He is just saying that’s all he needed for him to do it and no other documents, not that it is the only way
Tore *********
@Max ************
not required, i got my Truemoney full account before i got my drivers license. Only provided passport
Dorian ********
@Tore ********
interesting, attaching the passport page with the sticker didn’t work for me
Elías ********
@Dorian *******
did you try submitting both the stamp on the passport AND the printed PDF for the visa? Screen photos won't do.
Dorian ********
@Elías *******
actually it was a photo of the visa on my laptop, so that might’ve been it! Did you send it under “work permit related documents” or “other documents”?
Elías ********
@Dorian *******
I chose the option of Non Immigrant Visa. The app asked me to upload to different things. For one, I took a photo of my latest entry stamp (that says DTV on it and has a 180 days mark) on my passport and for the second I took a photo of my DTV printed PDF.
Dorian ********
@Tore ********
actually a thai drivers license is required IF you have a DTV, if you have a non immigrant then you only need passport/passport stamp
Elías ********
@Dorian *******
not correct, I got my advanced account with the DTV only. I don't have a driver's license from any country in the world, as a matter of fact.
Tore *********
@Dorian *******
wasnt for me. All I provided was my passport with DTV visa sticker.
Jim ********
@Tore ********
does it work on all qr payments? I have a true money account but haven’t used it for ages because half the places I tried to use it at say a bar the bar had there at code linked to the personal bank account and not a business account?
Tore *********
@Jim *******
it does, but there is a limit on personal QR. i think 30 payments a month.

My bank account still fine, so i mainly use for 7 and my internet bill
Max *************
@Tore ********
I know, I just wanted the OP to answer my question about the drivers license. I don't need TrueMoney.
