*I have been informed that Non-O Visa from out of Thailand, when apply for a Retirement Extension in Thailand, Immigration will only accept financial evidence from a Thai bank account.
Based on originally post by David Earl, i understand that he has only Non-O and then his question about to open bank account for one year extension. Is that correct? Could you please advise in currently if ppl has only Non-O which has got from their home country (no have Thai bank account), which bank and branch they can apply a new Thai bank account? Thanks
Last month i have got advised from the immigration officer in Pattaya, due to currently situation of foreigner opening new Thai bank account mostly Thai banks now require at least 1 year visa! If possible, it's the best the foreigner should apply Non-Immigrant OA visa from their country or nearby to have a yearly visa. Then, Enter Thailand with this visa and opening the Thai bank account (opening with 200-500 THB is fine). You can load some more later when the next year for you apply for Non-immigrant O and convert to a yearly retirement visa in Thailand. If need help about a Thailand retirement visa, please visit Facebook page : "Retire in Thailand" as they have related packages for you to choice. If any basic and how to start they willing a free consult.
