I did mine in KL last year and didn’t need to take my kids :)

And yes they will only give you a visa that is to the duration of your child’s so in your case until October.

Yes exactly as Graham said. We uploaded all our documents while in Thailand to save time and make sure we had everything we needed. When I landed I took a photo of my flight ticket alongside entry stamp into KL and submitted.

My husband and I both recently did a non-o visa application from Kuala Lumpur. We applied online on the Sunday evening after arriving in country, we both were requested additional information on the Monday through the online portal, my husband received his visa by email on the Wednesday, I received mine on the Thursday. Surprisingly painless process!
