Wise and Moreta have been the saving graces for me out here. I still pay the 200-300baht atm fee but no actual atm fee on Wise’s side and they give the best exchange rates that i’ve been able to find consistently. You can wire people money through it as well as long as they’re banking with the bigger banks out here. Moreta is hit or miss whether it’ll work since it doesn’t* accept personal QR codes and it’s difficult to tell the difference before scanning but just make sure they have a backup payment option if they’re unsure if the QR works

moreta supposedly has plans to be rolling out scanning at . i find it most useful at the train stations and a fair amount of the cannabis shops i’ve been into have a scan that works for moreta. i try to scan a QR whenever i see it, even if im not paying that way, just to see if it’s eligible to be used in the future.
