easiest is apply online for TR60 evisa. Gives you 60 days, which you can extend at any immigration office in Thailand for a further 30 days

passport holders from Russian Federation can get 30 days visa exempt, I think. And then she could apply for Education visa. Some people pay agents to expedite this.

Do you mean visa on arrival or visa exempt ? The latter is 30 days and can be extended for a further 30 days . Or apply for a TR visa before you arrive in Thailand, and gives her 60 days and can be extended too.
