your roaming should be turned off on your home data plan. You can use WiFi calling to call back home free on your home plan, just make sure it's set for wifi calling and in airplane mode. With either SIM or eSIM you can also use FB Messenger, IG, Skype, etc for calls. I've seen a SIM card that covers different countries in Asia but can't remember the details.

Yep. Looks like it's Vietnam! In the processing of booking a flight and filling out the Evisa forms now. A little anxious buying a flight before visa confirmation. If it gets denied at the last minute, not good. Guess I'll just have to do a quick land border run.

And I may even stop by Kuala Lumpur or Siem Reap on the way back...some good comments about those also. The consensus def favored Vietnam though! Thanks for the reply.

that is the owners of the site? I thought I read someone on here say $2600 or $2900 baht if you already have a Non O, much harder with a TV or exemption. I am confident I could do it with more time. I drug my feet on the retirement extension when the USD nosedived over the past few months. But even getting an account will save on ATM fees. Thanks. I’ll check them out. Someone else on here said the same about them not responding after being good to start. Hmmm.

yea, not looking great in Gainesville lately. Disappointed in Napier, he doesn’t seem to have the answers. At least FSU sucks ass worse than UF! Makes it easier to take.😅

I just the Non O, only single entry, so I have to bounce in 2 weeks. I’m hoping to find a way to get a Non O before I return.

When I first got here the exhange was $3650+ baht per $100 USD. Not long after it was in the $3300’s. Thinking it would rebound I held off, then it got to under $3200. I was in Chiang Mai then Phuket, so I don’t know if it’s lower there but by my calculations, at would have been it would have been a bit more than $21,900 US when I got here. But even now if it’s up a bit to $3300 baht, that’s almost $24,250. Then when you withdraw, the USD I would think would be back up and you’d get hit again on the way out. Is my math correct? I figured I’d just wait until it stabilized and we get a bump in November, hopefully. Even if I did the exemption, that’s still 90 days per with w extension. And there’s the tax issue also until that explained in more detail if it even happens. I can hold out til it all works itself out.

hi Ian. I am wanting to open up a bank account too. I’m on a non O that expires in two weeks and hoping to get it done before I leave so I can have the money transferred in when I come back for the retirement extension. Can I get the agents contact info? Thank you.
