it's worth it because you can put the money in and then get the letter the same day. You don't have to do this. It's just an option.

Bangkok Bank will freeze the money for 4 months, most other banks for 3. You can get the letter for immigration issued after you deposit the money. They will give you a form to sign that you will allow the money to be frozen. Relax.

Also, your non-o is valid for 90 days from when you get to Thailand. The IO at the airport will stamp the date the visa is valid in your passport. You will need to show this to immigration when you apply for your one year extension. The one year will start the last day of the original non-o ( you won't lose any days )

90 day Non O, apply out of Thailand online. Make sure you put all the bank statements in one file ( can only upload one file per section of the application

Then do a one year extension ( retirement ) in Thailand

You want the Non O not the Non OA. Non OA requires health insurance and criminal background check.

you do the Non O online while out of Thailand ( like the DTV ). It should take about 10 minutes to apply if you have the information together. You can only upload one file for each required document, so you need to get all the bank statements into one document. That gives you 90 days in Thailand.

Once in Thailand you can apply for a 1 year extension ( this is the retirement visa )

Do not apply for the Non OA. Apply for the Non O, it has less requirements. Look on YouTube there are videos on exactly how the process works and how to fill out the online application. It's very straight forward.
