When should I ensure my bank account has 800,000 THB for my retirement visa extension in Thailand?

if you touch it within 3 months after renewal or 2 months before renewal, yes they will not give visa. I just play it safe and never touch the money. The only way around the money requirements is to use a visa agent that has connections to do so and that is expensive.

I have never taken the chance of touching the 800k at all. They go thru my 1 year statement everytime very carefully.

Transfer...... Your passport number changes also, so everything will need to be updated like license and bank account.

The biggest difference and pro for using wise is you can have an account like a bank and a debit Mastercard.

Come on a tourist visa and then extend the visa while here. Much easier and does not require the health insurance that you are required to buy if you apply out of Thailand
