seems quite logical to me, when you do soft power for longer time, how do you pay for living in Thailand?

Anonieme deelnemer It certainly might make difference. The only reason they sometimes ask for income is that they want to know the chance you want the visa to work in Thailand is low. With 5M it is much more likely you don't need a job in Thailand to survive.

This rules will effect foreigners regardless visa when they stay over 179 days a year, so also possible DTV holders when they use the visa to live in Thailand. But the rules are mainly introduced to stop rich Thai from not paying tax on money they receive outside the country and then transfer next year to prevent paying tax on it.

There are automatic gates for entering, but only for Thai passsports.

Anonieme deelnemer 446 you can be asked for the same documents at arrival in the country, but that is very rare, and IO also can stop you, just like an in country extension that is not granted.

@Ray ****
The automatic gates in arrivals are only for Thai passports

My guess is most embassies just fill in the remarks field just the same way they also did for all other tourist visa, only a few are more creative and really try to put more meaningful info in it

Some time after applying is the time you want to use the visa.

The 500K is just a visa requirement.

There are no income requirements but every embassy has the right to ask anything they need to decide about your application.

When you go for soft power they might want to know how you will pay for living in Thailand, the 500K is NOT meant for daily cost of living.

When you apply as freelancer, they might want to assure you have a real job, and not only a dodgy job on paper.

@Todd ********
the 500K extra above the 500K requirement in case of emergencies is by far not enough to stay 5 years in Thailand, especially not when you also have to pay for the soft power activity, so they still might ask for income.
