also the smaller airports might know but still as I said the exp varies when you are entering via Bkk or Cnx. There wasn't supposed to be an interview and show of proof in cnx yet they did ask me.
I mentioned clearly that immigration hasn't put a set rule but it can the moment they realise they issued so many DTV visas and 500k is barely enough to maintain yourself here for a year or two and people are scavenging local work, so the next time you enter there might be a new rule. This is asia, I'm aisan, and I know how policies work in Asian countries. So all it tells me is how little you really understand Asia and Thailand. Be nice, responsible and respectful and better keep other sources of income alive and coming while you are here. They are flexible but not forgiving for offenders. 🙏😊
Well one of my friends on a retirement visa said that they have to maintain their funds at all time. I don't think this is any different than that. You could be asked to show your proof of funds and income at any point while extending 180 days or re entering. Also small airports are sometimes unaware of major policies, when I first entered on DTV in chiang mai a month back, they asked me to fill forms, declaration, cash I had all over again and I wasn't prepared for it. Not just me there were 3-4 other people on same visa were asked the same. So, it's safe to say, it's good to have it but again this is not set in stone East and many things are said-unsaid. You do you but be aware of the risks. I also know people who work illegally here on tourist/ dtv and other visas and have been for years and no issues whatsoever. Another friend was pulled over for not having IDP which rarely happens and more so coz she looks thai but not thai. So always be aware, it hasn't happened but it can happen and happens more often when you aren't expecting it ;)
