You only get five years if you are on a long stay visa or extension. Otherwise just two years each time.

Believe it or not, but that device sitting on the officer's desk is amazingly connected to a network. Your passport gets scanned and all your data is displayed.

I have never had an issue using fixed term deposits, and I have never read any reports saying they've been refused.

I do know many who use them and also seen reports as well.

Stop trotting out drivel.

Term deposits are fine, many use them to get a bit more interest. I am unaware of any term deposit in Thailand where the funds are not accessible until maturity.

The penalty is loss of interest.

Ubud had a large mix of Asians and Westerners. Sure, they like taking selfies, but I wasn't struck by an enormous number of Russians and Ukrainians. I got fed up with the narrow roads and constant traffic jams.

Kuta was dismal.

It was the Bogans from Australia that ruined Bali, in particular the dump Kuta.
