Ok, I understand. Unfortunately there’s no way around the 800K baht for the first year until you’re able to prove twelve months consecutive transactions to a thai bank.
Siden du har vært så lenge borte fra Norge, har du vel også kun krav på en mindre pensjon fra Norge etterhvert som ikke når opp til minstekravet for opphold.
what’s your nationality? You have a typical scandinavian name. I ask because your embassy might offer to give you a affidavit letter to confirm your income, and if so you’ll don’t need to prove income or funds in any other way.
This statement from the Thai Embassy in London could be the reason for this incident. There’s no official statement from the Thai immigration regarding this. Formally it’s two entries by land in a calendar year and no official restriction for air entries, but at one point you’ll be pulled aside and questioned and told to get a proper visa according to your travel pattern. Things have been more strict after Covid, three entries in a year would not be an issue, but if you maximise each entry with extension as well and stay 180 days in total on visa exemption in a calendar year, you might risk to meet the point where they will ask you to get a long stay visa for future stay in Thailand.
We had a guy who was denied boarding with Qatar Airways in London a couple of months ago on visa exemption even though he had a return flight within 30 days, because he had done two previous visa exemptions this year.. You could definitely risk they would ask you for an onward ticket on visa exemption.
The UK embassy don’t offer affidavit, and if he still just want to use funds based on married to a Thai, the only requirement is 400K baht seasoned for two months prior to your yearly extension. The funds are free to use again after the extension is issued. (Unlike the regular retirement).
Formally it’s 40 K baht a month, but unless you earn the money in Thailand monthly transfers might work and it might not. More and more offices are saying if you don't legally work in thailand and make the minimum 40K baht a month salary to meet the monthly income requirements based on marriage extension you cannot use monthly incoming transfers from overseas of 40K baht a month for the previous 12 months. It's just a crap shoot on whether your immigration office will or won't allow it, and they wouldn't allow it on the first yearly extension off a 90 day Non-O because you wouldn't have a year's worth of 40K baht a month transfers <- meaning you either legally work here with a work permit and the appropriate minimum salary, your embassy still issues the income affidavit OR you bank the funds.
, your embassy also offer to give you a affidavit letter to confirm your income. You therefor don’t need to prove income or funds in any other way as long as you can meet the general requirement of 65K baht a month. The affidavit letter from your embassy in Bangkok is valid for six months and you use this for your coming application for Extension of Stay.
