The British embassy stopped issuing affidavit letters to confirm income/pension in 2018.

If you want to apply for a 90 days Non O in country or extension of stay, there’s unfortunately no legal way around proving the first year yourself by showing proof of 800K baht in a thai bank. For the second year you can use your pension by showing proof of twelve months consecutive transfers over sea of min 65k baht a month to your thai bank account.

Yes, when the visas is expired and your on permission or extension to stay you’ll need to purchase re-entry permits if you’ll leave and want to re-enter. Single 1000 baht and multiple 3800 baht.

If it’s a one year Non O-A visa, you can stay for two years just by leaving and re-enter before the visa expires. You’ll get stamped in for another year if you also update your health insurance.

If you’re on a regular Non O visa with multiple entries, you can leave and re-enter before the visa expires and get stamped in for additional 90 days. Gives in other words 15 months stay in total.

For both visas you can apply for further yearly extension of stay at the immigration in Thailand.

yes, US, UK and AUS stopped in 2018 I think, most embassies in Western Europe still offers this service.

@Mark *******
You will, Non O-A can only be applied for at your registered permanent residence at date outside Thailand. But you can do a regular yearly extension of stay at the immigration in Thailand and NZ’s embassy still offers to provide affidavit letters as I understand. So if you can meet the required 65K baht a month you don’t need to prove any funds in Thailand. You’ll need to maintain your health insurance though.

Just apply for a regular 90 days Non O visa at the Thai embassy in Belgium with your income and bank at home and do a one year extension of stay in Thailand with affidavit letter from your embassy confirming your income. For a regular Non O there’s no mandatory health insurance, police check up etc.

@Robert *******
you’ll need to declare $10K out of US and $20K into Thailand.

1) You only have to prove the funds in your name in a thai bank account. Only the initial 90 days Non O requires proof of international transfer.

2) The funds need to be seasoned for two -not three- months before you apply for the extension of stay. (Three months after the extension is issued). So you’ve got one month to set up a bank account with the required funds.

He’ll first need to apply for 90 days Non O in country on TM.87 and extension of stay after.

You can apply for a 90 days Non O visa at home before you leave with income/pension if you can meet the financial requirement, apply for a 60 days extension based on being married thai which gives you 150 days first, then do a border bounce and re-enter on a 60 days visa exemption. Then you don’t have to worry of any flight tickets.
