To extend leave the country and return Don’t try and extend within Thailand

Get a non o visa (90 day) before you get to Thailand Open bank account deposit funds (400k thb for marriage to Thai or 800 k thb for retirement) go to immigration before 90 day visa runs out an apply for 1 year extension based on marriage or retirement

Personally I think retirement is easier as marriage has lots of fuss to prove that you are really married home visits etc Good luck

You really need to read the requirements on the Thai visa website

You can enter on visa exempt for 60 days but if you want to retire in Thailand and are over 50

Apply for non O visa from home, ensure 800 K THB in Thai bank account for minimum 2 months and then apply for 12 month extension based on retirement at immigration office

I have no idea how you do it once in country but again if you read the website it will be outlined for you

@Bob ******
the monthly income deposits into a Thai bank are only ok for your second year extension The first years extension relies on 800K thb in a Thai bank

Again I suggest you read the requirements 😀

It will depend on the IO who manages your application Lots of people have been approved in this situation

Good luck

@Bob ******
ok but I have no idea how that meets Thai visa requirements as I’m not American. The 2 week holiday is up to you but doesn’t help nor hinder the visa process

@Bob ******
yes I assumed that when you said ‘ retire’ in Thailand rather than visit for x time
