I should’ve taken more notice of the details of the day pass. I only had it for ten minutes. Gave it back to get my passport back on the way back to Thailand so didn’t really give it much attention.
This is correct. You get a one day pass from Myanmar immigration if you don’t have a visa for Myanmar already in your passport, so it’s not possible under the terms of that day pass to stay overnight.
I bounced there a couple of days ago. Walked up the street on the other side of the border and walked straight back again. Stamped back into Thailand approximately ten minutes after I stamped out. No problems at all.
As for an agency to take you there, just get the bus. What would the agency do for you that you can’t do yourself other than physically take you there?
Whatever door you use to enter the British embassy is irrelevant. Even while they still offer the letters you don’t use a door or a gate or a secret tunnel. You contact the consular services department and upload your documents then they post the letter to you. After they’ve taken your money, obviously.

Consular services provide services to citizens of the countries the embassies represent.
