I don't have a stamp, my stamp was back in Spain when I first entered the EU. I guess I can be transparent and note this on a document when I apply, along with airbnb receipt, only way I can think to do it. What happens if they don't start processing the visa until I have left Italy, is that an issue? I am only here for another few days.

I am hesitant to pay 350 euro and be denied. I tick the boxes for everything else for the visa it is just this current location issue that is confusing, so many different answers flying around :/

entry stamp I dont have since I am in the schengen zone and they only stamp you in on your first country and that is not where I am now.

so if the visa is for 180 days and I don't enter until 120 days, this would still be OK, right? I mean sure I would only have 2 months left, but if that is not an issue for me then this should still be ok. The whole location thing does not make sense though, by the time they get my application I will be in a different location......
