would you get that stamp from the day you go to immigration (even if you still have, let's say 14 days left on your current COVID extention) or would you get the 7 days to leave after your visa expires? Thank you!!!
well, I didn't pay it (yet). I didn't have that amount of money with me and they were about to close. He said I can pay it later. Plus I wanted to do some research first.
no - I did get the covid extension (until mid September), while handing me back my passport (with the stamp inside) the lady said, I also have to do the 90 days reporting.
Nigel Ponsonby Smallpiece well, not a regular tourist visa like back in the days (pre-covid), but the "not being able to travel due to covid 60 days extension visa" - I don't know the official name, but basically the visa most people are on 🤷🏼♀️
when I did my last 90 day reporting (Dec 2020) I got this paper that said I have to do it again in March - I did go to immigration in March, to change to a tourist visa (also confirming my address). No one at immigration ever said anything about that before, and it has been more then 90 days since December. I just absolutely don't get it, why they tell me know and no one (in Samui) ever cared about that before.
A little update: I talked to the "boss man" who was no help at all, I told him I just wanna understand, but he didn't care. Then two of my former ED visa classmates came, they have the exact same visa history (ED visa in Trang, change to 60 days covid tourist visa and all extensions after that in Samui). No one mentioned/asked them for any 90 days reporting, when they picked up their stamped passport. Only difference: employee #1 handed them back their passport (just asked for the names, to confirm its their passport), I got mine back from employee #2, who then started the whole "you need to do 90day reporting" situation.
So it is random - not even depending on the Immigration office, but the employee.
