True, convenience is the biggest plus of a local account, but you can work around it as you say. The main thing is people not going to lose money from their locked account.

Note, Malaysia is the most difficult embassy to get DTV approval. Approvals take around 10-15 business days, longer if requests made for additional paperwork.

Depends on where you apply regarding the recent deposit of 500k. Some are ok with it , others require it be seasoned for 3-6 months. You applying for Softpower hence the parent sponsorship? Can be easier if they just "loan" you the money

That's the benefit of the DTV, can enter on a one way ticket, stay for 6 mths hence the lack of questioning for the vast majority of DTVERS.
