There is no major issue with entry, so do not worry about it. There are instances of questionable behaviour by IOs but your experience of entry matches mine and 99.5% of DTVERS.

Anonymous participant. You were not honest or really open and have only perpetuated the reasons why you were stopped. You can be any colour and speak as nicely as you like, male or female but if your nationality is on a watchlist along with a previous visa which is Infamous for being abused you have very high chances of being stopped with a new DTV even though you have done nothing wrong. Those are the facts. You have your DTV so enjoy wonderful Thailand.

If a crooked immigration officer wanted to mess with any visa holder it will. APEC/ SMART Visa holders are not exempt from such an officer.
