Sharing a quick observation from our DTV application process and helping a few others recently with documents, application forms, and choosing where to apply from.

From what I’ve seen so far — applicants with a solid travel history and no overstay or immigration violations seem to be getting approvals faster compared to those without much travel background or any past issues with Thai immigration.

Of course, this is just an observation, not a rule. We’re all learning and supporting each other through the process.

Would love to hear your thoughts or experiences. Has anyone noticed something similar?

TLDR : Answer Summary
The observation shared indicates that applicants with a solid travel history and no immigration violations tend to receive faster approvals for the DTV visa in Thailand. Comments reveal that various factors, such as nationality, application from the correct location, and documentation accuracy, affect success rates. Some individuals note that those with less travel experience are scrutinized more closely during the application process, leading to potential delays or higher rejection rates. Overall, the community expresses support and shares experiences to help each other navigate the complex visa landscape.

One of my applicants had long and bad passport history. No real overstay but warned multiple times at the border.

When he went for DTV the HCM embassy told him " good, the DTV is for people like you"

It seems to me the people having trouble have several reasons

Nationality

500k just deposited but not from their own account because they borrow

They are not really nomads so their paperwork is not correct or dodgy

Oversupply of paperwork and not what is specifically asked for leading to suspicion dodgy

Not staying in country that they applied

Applying from Thailand not the country in which the embassy

Soft power not government approved activity or registered with government

Using an agent and embassy know it's not them

Completing the online with wrong info

Name doesn't match passport incorrect spelling

Many things but hey most apply 2 or 3 times until success

These reasons are why immagration are now checking at some borde crossings and airport. Embassy approves most but immagration not happy with process

Anyway good luck to future DTV applications

I attended 2 DTV promotion events run by TAT. At each it was said people with no travel history at all would be looked at more closely. I cannot remember the exact words but it was why does someone who has never left their country all of a sudden want a 5 year visa to Thailand?
