ok appreciate it. I'll be going to Muang Thong Thani as I entered visa exempt so that's the one to go to from what I understand.

right, thanks. I guess I am wondering would it better to apply next week (in which case the 60 days would start from then from what I understand) or it better to wait until the last minute (ie the 25th for example) to maximize time and hope that there are no issues and that I get approved? From what I understand they initially give you 15 days, then you return for the remainder if approved? Just don't want any issues while trying to max things out.

I know you’ve posted this a few times James but respectfully this was not the info I received from the Thai consulate here in Vancouver (happy to show anyone a copy of the email via pm). They stated that you need an onward flight if you are doing visa exempt, but that no onward flight is needed for a 60 day TR visa. Now this could be unique to the consulate here but that’s what they said. I have my COE already btw and am flying out Sep 14

It depends on whether Emirates will cover COVID treatment specifically. I called my bank (I have a travel rewards credit card that gives me travel insurance) and they told me that they wouldn't cover COVID treatment as "there has been a Canadian government advisory against travel since March 2020." Annoying but insurance companies will use whatever loophole they can.
