@Bim ******
no worries, we’re all here to help each other out.

@Bim ******
ah ok. I’d imagine it will go back to the same logic of not kicking out people who are already here and spending money. But, we shall have to wait and see I guess.

it could be that the rule as of now is no more extensions after the end of January. But, given what has happened every other time this year that could always change. I would wait until there is an official announcement about it.

@Bim ******
oh really? I haven’t heard of that before, but every provincial office does things a bit differently.

my previous stamp would expire November 30th, which ironically is the same day that I go back in to close out my under consideration stamp which should give me until January 23rd or 24th (60 days from Nov. 24th when I applied). They didn’t mention anything about further extensions though.

The extension date is based on when you go to immigration. Your 60 days start from the time they give you the stamp once your turn in your documents and pay the 1900 baht.

I went to Phuket immigration the other day and got it. You needed photocopies of your passport ID page, your first stamp when you landed, your most recent extension stamp, and the small white departure card you got at the airport. There were also 3 papers to fill out (tm7, stm2, and a new one with check boxes saying why you can’t travel due to covid). Take all that and a passport sized photo along with 1900 baht and they give you a 1 week under consideration stamp, then come back for a stamp that’s good for the remaining 53 days.

I didn’t know that this was an option. My friends have contacted their embassies regarding our visit as well and they suggested giving it a couple more days so that the process can be figured out. If that doesn’t work then the appeal option might be worth looking into.
