I will be using a company called 'Shelter Global' as an EOR and getting a Non Imm B visa with work permit. Just started the process so it's not been approved by immigration yet, but I know people that use them with no issues. Comes with a cost but check them out and see if that would maybe work for you :)

Yep - lots to figure out yet....and it makes my head hurt! My understanding is that the tax treaty states that the income is taxed in Canada and not taxed in Thailand - I mean, that's what the treaty is for right? But like I said - haven't figured that part out yet...

I wasn't sure if the 360 days is a one time (in 5 years) occurrence? Kinda reads like this but then it also doesn't. Or maybe just wishful thinking on my part lol....

We are in the process of relocating to Thailand and I have my own online business and for the time being, I will keep it here in Canada.

We also still own a home here so Canada will continue to be our residency for tax purposes.

Remember that online work is not permitted in the kingdom so hopefully the new DN visa will make it a bit easier for some people. I’ve heard more info is coming out end of June - early July.

You can also check out Shelter Global for a way to work legally in Thailand. Comes at a cost - but better than deportation 😏

I can only comment on the issue of the 1 file ….

If you can only upload 1 document - download your 3 bank statements then go to “I love PDF” ( should come up when you google it) where you can merge all 3 statements into 1 PDF. Download the merged one and upload that. I don’t know about the other problems - but thought maybe the merging would help with the upload 😊

I usually use TruGo. Haven’t had a claim so can’t comment on that part but it was very affordable. I get it through my local insurance provider.

I live in Canada and applied for my TR at the Thai consulate in Canada while I was in Canada. However, I arrived in Thailand coming from Germany and still applied at the Thai consulate in Vancouver. They advised me to do so but did ask to see my ticket showing that I was arriving from Germany. Hope that helps :)
