sorry I was referring to Card Vs QR Scan payments most places still have cash option's But still see a few places that prefer to be cashless even small market vendors to a degree

I've picked up knowledge from within visa Groups on F.B and few people I know based out here in Thailand that either Bangkok Bank or the Green Bank Kasikorn are slightly more lenient and Easier to open...

And if your prepared to buy a Product ie insurance for circa 5-7,000b even more likely to let you open an account but not a necessity....

Many places only accept scan payments via QR code or few places that accept card want to charge 3-5% or more to pay by Visa/mastercard etc...

So fairly beneficial and also transferring larger amounts when exchange rate more favourable could well save you 1,000s of £$€ over a year depending on disposable income & financial spending
