Great write up!!

I sure hope they chill on the ME Non-O and the 400k.

Sorry to hear about your loss.

Glad to see a post like this which isn’t anonymous, good on ya!

You’ll have the 20k฿ fine and a ban. Since you don’t care, it won’t be a problem. But, and I mean a big BUT, don’t get caught before you get to the airport. You don’t want to end up in IDP holding cell.

Good luck to you.

You HAVE to leave and re-enter to have the non-o activated. Unfortunately, there’s no way around it.

I would wait until the visa exempt stamp is about to expire before you left to come back to activate the non-o. Unless your plan is to only to be here for the three months.

Your hotel or landlord needs to file a TM30. Some landlords will , others will not file it.

If you don’t plan on needing an extension or need to go to immigration for any reason, I wouldn’t worry about the TM30. If you’re planning on applying for an extension, you’ll more than likely need it to be filed.

You’ll need a screen capture of the TM30. Print that off and take it with you.

you can get 17 months from that visa (15 from the visa and then a 60 day married to a Thai extension). It’s a pain to have to leave every 90 days but to me it’s worth it. It’s the visa I’m on now and I don’t mind the travel every 90 days.

Anyone who votes no has no idea what you’ve done for this community.

I’m on here, not only this group, everyday and see your replies to just about every comment/post. I have yet to see anything negative come from you.

If you were to leave, this group would be losing one of the most informative people on FB, IMHO. The visa knowledge you have is incredibly useful for everyone.

yes, I understand. What I was saying is they take the photocopied documents. It’s common knowledge that when you’re dealing with visas/extensions you should always have the originals with you. When I was there they didn’t even ask to see my original documents.

when I was there in March, they asked about the letter. Listening to one of the most knowledgeable persons regarding Thai visas, I had the letter ready for them.

Unfortunately for us, they are very inconsistent with what documents they want. Always be over prepared is my model. Travelling that distance and not having something they require, isn’t something I want to experience.
