A visa or extension received from Immigration will require a Thai bank account where there are financial requirements unless your Embassy still provides the income affidavit. Visas obtained from Embassies outside Thailand with financial requirements just require the funds in a bank account in your name anywhere.

some people are adverse to putting any money in a Thai bank account so they believe the Non-OA is the solution for them (personally I don't agree)
