I have done it before but also let them know when putting the application in. It wasn't a problem for me and just got a re-entry permit and few comments on my return as the time was up the following day of my return. It is important to check incase you are down for a home visit.

my husband hadn't got his house book as we live in a different province so gets a printout from the same place as the Kor Ror 2 which needs to be updated each year so this is possibly what your friend is getting confused with. If your wife has her original house book then there is no need.

There has just been a public holiday so possibly it hasn't been 8 working days for them and public holidays will put them behind.

As soon as they have an ID card (7) they can open an account. Any parent can go with them. I went with my children to open their's. The bank did call someone (I think a helpline for them) and it was no problem. They can't have an atm card until they are 12

Not sure if you are walking in announcing to them you are on a short term visa and so causing confusion. You need to visit a branch and tell them you are on a non-o visa for retirement that is it.

I know but he said he has been using the free 60 days since 2022. If he just said visa free entry it would sound more convincing.
