I recently applied - THREE TIMES - for a non-o visa for my 4 year old son. I applied twice with the Thai embassy in Washington D.C. and once with the U.S. Consulate in New York. The Washington D.C. applications came back with a request for additional documents (when I provided everything they should have required). The application with the Thai Consulate in New York was approved - with the exact same set of documents. Go figure. But I know one thing, I’ll never apply through Washington D.C. Thai Embassy again.
My average monthly water bill in Thailand is around £1.50 a month (in UK currency) average water bill in the UK can be as high as £100 a month. Philippines can do better than Thailand with things like water bills? Restaurant costs? Taxis? I got hustled by a taxi driver in Manila. Hotels are definitely expensive. I was happy to return to Thailand, where it’s not too ‘Americanized” also.
Me and my friend just did it at the Thai Embassy in Manila, Philippines. Stayed at the St. Giles Hotel near the embassy in the district of Makarti. Went into the embassy on a Tuesday, got the 3 months (2 months with an extension for a 3rd month) tourist visa on the Friday. They are a quick embassy I’ve heard compared to others. Just over 3 hours flight from Bangkok Don Mueang airport on Air Asia.
