It is because of the volume of dodgy people perhaps....Yes I had to do one on a tourist exemption stamp last month. It is not too bad....3 hours in and out....
Michael ********
That is great. Wish Pattaya would follow suit. Worst immigration office around.
Michael ********
That could be a good idea...but only if within 24 hrs perhaps....??
Michael ********
Yes that is what I thought. :) No refusals.

Cristopher Svensson So you need the above (if same as Pattaya.....again I don't know as all offices are different).

For TM30..Copy of passport data page, TM6 departure card, arrival stamp and visa. 1 photo. Copy of House registration (Blue book) and ID card of the house owner. They will give you the form there to complete.

For extension....Then submit a copy of the TM30 slip (you receive) and apply for your visa extension as normal with 1 photo.

So you weren't refused then. You didn't officially submit the TM30 at that office and went to another with the required documents. If you turn up with all documents required at the Chonburi office there should be no problem as far as I understand it.

This is for Pattaya....May apply to Chiang Mai also...not sure.....are you short stay or long stay....hotel, condo or private residence....
Michael ********
Did you have all of the required documents to lodge the TM30..?

You need what is mentioned above....THEN you need to copy the TM30 slip you receive and have another photo for the extension.....(Total 2 photos). If going in morning go earlyish....if afternoon they open after lunch at 13:00. Allow min 3 hours.
