Hi TVA family,
Just curious, what is the worst that can happen if you (or your landlord) don't file a TM.30 housing form? Does someone just get a fine? Or can the person staying there get deported for something like this?
Backstory: I noticed a friend of mine has the same problem as a lot of people where the landlord didn't know about this form and its now a month and a half later and they want to extend their tourist visa.
TLDR : Answer Summary
Failing to file a TM.30 housing form in Thailand can lead to fines, typically around 1600–2000 baht, but may not result in immediate deportation. The responsibility to file this form often falls on the tenant, who must ensure it is submitted to immigration within 24 hours of moving into a property. Not having this form filed can complicate visa extension applications, as immigration offices may refuse extensions if the TM.30 is not completed. Generally, experiences shared indicate that although some individuals have faced fines for non-compliance, very few have encountered outright refusals for extensions once the form was filed later.
