Non-O retirement visa from 50yo. with 800k baht, untouched, in a Thai bank account. Marriage visa is also an option (half the bank funds I think) but a lot more paperwork.

No visa. You get up to 60 days visa exempt entry. Only thing you need is contact details of your accommodation & booked transport out of Thailand before the 60 days ends. You usually won't be asked, but best to have it, just in case

I see a lot of YouTubers advertising eSims. They make sense if you're travelling through a few countries, but I've briefly looked into them myself & they seem to be considerably more expensive than a local sim. Have you tried them yourself?

Try before you buy 👍 Many different lifestyles, locations & budgets to choose from. Check out some YouTube vids as well. I love a bit of Retired Working 4 You, Keis One & Paddy Doyle. In general, Thailand is very safe

yeah, the only time I've headed to Thailand without a return, I booked a cheap flight to Cambodia "just in case" That was before someone told me about Onward Ticket. Haven't tried it yet, but is apparently great

Might be easier going the 60 day visa exemption with 30 day extension. Book one way flight & maybe look at Onward Ticket if you're concerned about not having an exit flight yet

aah. What passport? Because heaps of countries get 60 days entry without needing a visa. Best thing to do is check with your local Embassy. I'm an Aussie so no need for a visa unless I'm looking for longer than 60 days, so I basically have no idea. Sorry
