Thanks, I will try find that form and print it out. Yes definitely don't want to get the permit at the last minute when leaving the country.

The limit is six times a year for flying in, i've had this confirmed by immigration

You are allowed to enter the country 6 times a year by air (and two by ground).

You get 30 days automatically upon entry, and can also get a 30 day extension (60 days total for each visit).

If you're not planning to fly into Thailand more than 6 times per year, then you don't need to get a visa.

This will work for a year or two, but if they 'pull you up' after that as Oliver says, then you will need to look into visa options.
