Do you need to keep 500k baht in the bank if using border runs instead of visa extensions in Thailand?

Maybe I’m confused but some of these posts read like they are being asked to prove their income upon arrival. Some have said they show the balance from their banking app on the spot.

Given this visa is not even a year old I would just try to stay up to date on people’s recent experiences at the border you are planning to enter from.
