I've had visits from immigration in Bangkok, Kanchanaburi, and Krabi. Initial application, then annual extensions on a non-o. So have many of my pals, most of whome are over 60.
Depends on which immigration office you use. I printed Google maps at two different scales, including long and lat info and major street names. Deemed not good enough, and was asked to hand draw the map. Essentially this was a curved line to the thick line (main road) and the words sea, hills and local village xyz. Regardless, a week later, they had to phone for directions to my house, after they couldn't find it for the home visit
