Why wait for a compulsory date. It should always be part of your itinerary uness you like to tempt fate and hope for the best you dont fall ill or have an accident.

Just came in with zero cash in my pocket 3 days ago only with my bank cards. No question no problem. In fact I did the same the past 6 years. In most malls a lot of shops actually dont accept cash anymore .....

AND the Thailand official government site is available on the internet where you can get the correct information instead of reading 1246 different opinions from other tourists. Thats what my answer was about. And before you say not everybody can read Thai, there is a place for an English version!. And if you cant read English either then I guess you're f...d.
