I applied for DTV it’s been over 4 weeks from Australia

Apparently Thai embassy in Canberra isn’t the quickest

I did 6 entries last year and when I arrived in December I was scrutinised the lady I had at immigration did her job and let me in but did say it could have been a different story with a different officer

I’ve applied for a proper visa I don’t want to risk it again

You may be lucky but I’ve seen plenty of stories since November where entry has been denied

I’m same as you genuine tourist never overstayed never extended never border run bit common sense is rare and they don’t know you they just make a call

Get a visa and don’t have the anxiety🍺

Colin Boyland hey mate yes I was and still am home in Australia I’m dumb with technology and the firm is based in Thailand they lodge on your behalf it’s quite normal process and less chance of mistakes being made

The Thai B embassy in Canberra is apparently not very quick from my immigration lawyer’s experience

I applied for the DTV 4 weeks ago still pending document check I got a law firm handling my application in Thailand they emailed the embassy in Canberra this week they didn’t even respond!!

Yes I understand same for me it was a pain in the arse I got lawyers for expats in Thailand to do the leg work to help me they are fantastic to deal with

There’s no official reset on entries each year they look at you history

If you look on line it still says if you come by air there is no set limits on entry but the reality on the ground has changed since the crack down in November last year

Hi mate I’m from Australia I entered 6 times last year and I feel very lucky I got in last time it’s open to the discretion of the immigration officer you get I’ve applied for the DTV visa I’m not prepared to risk it again and the lady who let me thesis the same

I only stay one month and fly home but now it’s a big risk
